Confessions of a Day 1 DC fan lol

I remember my mother brought home the "No No No" single back in 1997. I was 8 years old. I dont know, back then i wanted to be a singer and was always very into music and i always loved groups! ... Anyway, i was immediately captivated by Kelly Rowland. My mother used to wear short hair and at the time Kelly had short hair and was darkskinned. Then their self titled album came out and i remember playing it all the time.... a year in a half later The Writings On The Wall dropped and the group changes and all that drama... and then there were 3 and Survivor album/era... and then them going solo and coming back for Destiny Fulfilled... and so on and so on. I litterally grew up with them and really thought i was going to be signed to Matthew Knowles one day...lol smh

No matter how big BEYONCE is, i still look at her how i saw her when i was 8. I remember they acknowledged God and their faith/backround in everything they did on their albums and shows. I figured Beyonce was too big now for the gospel arena and would never do anything in that direction ... then she joined Michelle for 'Say Yes' along with Kelly and i was like aight.... then she did the grammy performance (smh...im going to act like that never happend...) I definitely have a love hate relationship with her... i go back and forth but you cant deny her talent and impact.

I follow each member of the DC camp who are all doing their thing respectfully. My eyes are always on Kelly Rowland tho'... anybody that knows me know i love her... So many of yall sleep on her music. I think ive seen every interview and saw every performance from her and probably know every song by heart, released and unreleased. She is one of my favorite artist of all time, easily in my top 5 and thats real...

I love Michelle Williams contrary to the rest of the world. She is a vocal beast and has range. I love her Unexpected album (2008 pop/rnb) that nobody knew she had.... lol. All her gospel albums are nice especially this last one Journey to Freedom.

Its been 10 years since they called it Quits and weve seen many reunions. Beyonces Get Me Bodied video and BET awards peformance when Kelly did 'Like This' live, also The Beyonce Experience Tour DVD... when they did Survivor, they gave us a 'Love Songs' compilation with a new song 'Nuclear' that everyone slept on... Beyonce and Michelle joines Kelly on her 'You Changed' track off her last album Talk A Good Game... and of course the Super Bowl !! and cameo in 'Superpower' video for Bey and then 'Say Yes' !!

I said all that to say.... this performance lowkey made a grown man tear up. First of all, the shock and second i can tell that it was completely genuine. There is power in friendship. What group do you know all have succesful solo careers in different genres and can still come together?? This platform, the gospel platform... "when Jesus say(s) yes nobody can say no" ... like, regardless of whatever you say about them... look... the bible says " Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." ..... so what is deep rooted in you will never go away and when i see this performance, i think about how everything came full circle and how far each of them have came and how they gave us an old DC gospel medley like back in the day ...LOL i felt proud like i knew them or something...i felt how i felt sitting on the floor listenining to them and other artist at 8 years old again...idk.. only a real fan would understand what im saying... LOL LOL

Anyway... Just thought i'll share that. I've been saying how i want all 5 members, Bey, Kellz, Chelle, Toya and Tavia to perform a Gospel Medley like on their albums just ONE TIME but this performance was enough. Im satisfied....
